What is Y factor and how does it work?

Y factor is an app that connects future parents and intended private sperm donors. 

It gives you a dedicated place to discover people, get to know each other, coordinate donations, and stay connected along the way.

How does Y factor work?

Whether you're looking for a donor or considering becoming one, the process starts by creating a profile that helps others understand who you are and what you're looking for.

1. Discover people: Explore profiles and use search and filters to find people who may be a good fit for what you're looking for.

2. Like and match: If you're interested in someone, you can like their profile. When you both like each other, it's a match.

3. Get to know each other: Once matched, you can chat and get to know each other. Y factor also provides tools to help you discuss important topics and understand each other's expectations.

4. Decide how you want to proceed: If you decide you'd like to move forward together, you choose what happens next. Depending on your circumstances and where you live, this could include private donation outside a clinic or treatment with a private donor through a fertility clinic.

5. Plan and coordinate: If you decide to proceed, you can stay connected on Y factor while planning next steps and coordinating donation attempts together.

6. Stay connected along the way: Your connection doesn't have to end with a donation. Future Parents and donors can stay in contact during pregnancy and after a child is born, depending on the relationship and level of contact you've agreed on together.

You're always in control of what happens next.
There is no obligation to proceed with someone you've matched with, and you can take the time you need to decide what feels right for you. The kind of relationship you have before, during, and after a donation is something you can discuss and agree on together.

What is Y factor's role?

Y factor provides the platform where future parents and potential donors can find and connect with each other. 

Y factor is not a sperm bank or fertility clinic. We don't provide sperm, fertility treatment or medical advice, and people who create donor profiles on Y factor are not donors supplied or vetted by Y factor.
