How do I search and filter profiles?

Y factor doesn't use swiping to browse profiles. Instead, search results shows profiles in a list, so you can explore your options at your own pace. You can then use sort and filter to narrow down the results you see based on what's important to you.

Sorting your search results

By default, search results are ordered with the newest profiles first. You can use the sort function to change the order in which profiles appear. From Search, tap Sort and choose:

• Newest: Recently added profiles first (Default)
• Nearest: Profiles closest to your location first
• Age - Ascending: Younger profiles first
• Age - Descending: Older profiles first

Sorting changes the order of your results without changing the filters you've selected.

Filtering your search results

You can then adjust your search criteria and apply them to refine the profiles you see. The filters available depend on whether you're using Y factor Explore or Y factor Plus. From Search, tap Filter at the top of your search results.

Basic Search filters - Y factor Explore

With the free Y factor Explore plan, you can use two basic filters to narrow down your search:

1. Verified users only: Choose to only see profiles of users who have completed ID verification.

2. Distance range: Choose the maximum distance between you and the profiles you'd like to see, and whether or not to include users abroad.

Once you've selected your filters, tap Apply to update your search results.

Advanced filters - only available on Y factor Plus

With Y factor Plus, you get access to additional filters that let you narrow your search based on more detailed preferences and profile information.

The available filters include criteria such as:

Physical details: such as age range, eye colour, hair colour, height, weight, physical appearance or choose to see only profiles with photos.

Donation preferences: see only profiles with a certain preference on commitment, method, and type.

You can combine multiple filters to focus your search on the things that matter most to you. The more filters you apply, the narrower your search results may become. If you're seeing very few or no profiles, try widening your distance or removing some filters.
