Search filters on Y factor's app help you customise your results to provide easier searching on the app based on your selected criteria.
You can filter among users based on these criteria:
1. Verified user only
2. Age range
3. Distance range
4. Commitment preference
5. Donation Method preference
Here's a breakdown of how each of the filters work:
1. Verified users only: This filter allows you to view only users who have been ID verified. You turn the filter on and off by switching the toggle. ID verification is currently optional, so you should not turn this on if you want more results, but once you match and chat you can always request the other user to verify before you proceed with the process.
2. Age Range: This filter allows you to see only users in a specific age range. You apply the filter by moving the age range sliders where you can set minimum and maximum ages. The default range is from 18 to 80.
3. Distance: This filter allows you to see only users in within a defined radius from your own location. You can choose to view users from a 5 km/3 mi radius up to maximum 1000 km/600 mi away from you. You apply the filter by moving the distance slider to your desired maximum distance. Make sure to use your current location to get the best results.
4. Commitment preference: This filter allows you to narrow down search results to only show users with specific preferences on Donation Commitment. You apply the filter by checking the box next to each commitment category you would like to see. We have commitment shown on Y factor profiles to make expectation and intentions transparent to other users from the get go, before initiating the communication.
The commitment level we have split into four categories:
- Donation only: This is for users who only expect to be in contact for the donation, and wishes no contact after
- Online relation: This is for users who wish to stay in touch online, and share/receive updates and pictures of the child
- Father Figure: This is for users who intends for the child to know who the donor is, and potentially keep in touch so the child can reach out in case it wants to ask the donor questions or meet in the future
- Co-parenting: This is for users who intend for higher involvement of raising the child, and who want to build a relationship between the child and the donor
